Brooklyn Basic: As of Late...

We have been so busy here at the Stauffer homestead... obviously because i haven't written for so long. Summer is always a busy time for us.

We have had so much happen since Lochlan turned 3 months... Well, he is now 5 months. Its crazy!
He is growing up so fast & its just insane.

He is currently in the 90 % for everything, he was just in 90% for his weight though. haha but he is 98% for height & 99% for his head. If you read my post earlier, the pediatrician said that when babies heads are that big that they might have to do an ultra sound to make sure that the spinal fluid is transferring & not swelling in his brain. (it's pretty scary) but.... good news is, is that his body is growing into his head & they aren't worried about his head anymore.... & it doesn't look as big anymore. ;) haha. he's still adorable.

A little update on him:

He loves: Bananas, and is still nursing like a champ. He doesn't really like rice cereal, not sure why though. He eats a lot. haha. but that's okay. we want it that way. He's healthy & that's all we need. but... he is teething currently, and it has been a nightmare! It is the saddest, worst thing in the world. He just pulls at his ears all the time & tries to bite everyone's face off. haha. Blake's mom told us that she used to put cold wash cloths in the freezer.. so we tried it & it seemed to help.. .but it still hurts him. He's a fighter though.
He is 17 pounds, 26 1/2 inches & is a crawler... It's more of an army crawl, but as of yesterday he was bringing his knees in & is pretty much in attack mode. haha. when he wants something, he will sneak up on you & grab it. ha
He LOVES the color yellow & red.. & still has an obsession with tags.

There is not much that he doesn't like though. he is a very easy to please baby! He is kind of out of his "paci-attachement" but i'm not sure for how long. he just doesn't really use it anymore?... its nice, but I am sure it will come back later! He is in his crib now & he sleeps through the night, most nights... haha. but sometimes he will wake up at about 5:00 am to eat.
He is such a talker & is absolutely hilarious. He is just so much fun & lightens up our day. We just can't wait till he can talk but we are both VERY excited for what is going to come out of his mouth. haha.

Blake is still studying for the LSAT & its been crazy! We are getting excited & its becoming more real to me when we talk about our pros & cons of staying in Utah or being out of state. Right now they are pretty much tied up.. but obviously we'd be happy & blessed with anything. He takes the LSAT in September but we won't find out where we are going until probably next summer.

Blake is so great. Even though he pretty much has no time.. he still manages to spend time with us & play with Lochlan. haha They are so fun together.

I am starting school at Weber State & I luckily got almost a Full Grant.. we just have to pay for fees, but hey we'll take it. I am taking it online & luckily if we go out of state, I will still go to Weber & everything will be peachy. ha

Our families have been busy too.

Blakes parents are painting their living room right now & also they are taking out their carpet & putting in wood. I think it will look super good. Everyone is doing awesome.

These last couple of months, we have visited family. My dad & Blake's Grandpa Burnell. It was so fun to see them together & get some nice one on one time.

Blake's grandpa is doing great. He had knee surgery this last week. When we went to visit, it was so fun. He loves hanging out with Lochlan. We played Golf for 2 rounds. It is really fun to play cards with him.

My dad is doing awesome.. He is doing a lot better but still gets tired. He is just so awesome. i wish he'd get a girlfriend/wife. He recently was in the parade for his company & let us be in it with him. Lochlan had a lot of fun. He pretty much just played with candy wrapper & sucker wrappers.. I think it will mean a lot more to him when he's older. He always has fun down there. ha

My Grandma Westenskow was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer & recently had a Double Masectomy. Which is unreal & super intense. She has been such a fighter & is absolutely awesome & such an inspiration to me. She has handled this traumatic experience with grace & positivity. She is so positive about it, that its almost nuts. But my grandma can pretty much handle anything & everything. Luckily, my grandpa takes really good care of her too & a lot of people have pulled through to be supportive & with her. She starts Chemo in a few weeks.

We are doing super good & we are very busy. Hopefully we will be able to go swimming soon & spend some time in the sun. Ha.

When we got married last year, right before NFL football season... we decided that instead of having a die hard football team ... that each year we will choose a team randomly & we will go to a home football game to experience different teams & also to have different experiences.

Well last year, we had some cards out & after the specific card we drew, we would eliminate that team. Long story short... we drew Seattle SeaHawks... It was a really fun season because we paid attention to that team all season & it was really fun they won the SuperBowl. haha.

This is family tradition we made up last year & from now on we draw on July 4th.
We now have pocket sized helmets & put them into a black bag & we draw one out at a time... after we draw the team, that team is eliminated & the last helmet in the bag is the team we root for. And also during the season we get some kind of souvenir... Last year we got a Seahawks blanket. ha. Once the children will be older to pick it will be even more fun. But this year it was just Blake & I.
